    if an oil filter has only a "tension spring", and no bypass valve, that spring is being used for tension up until bypass is needed. It may activate during a cold start or if the filter media is clogged. If it didn't bypass and the engine has no oil, there is no longer a working engine. Better to have dirty oil than no oil.

    • @Redneck_Ed
      @Redneck_Ed 19 годин тому

      The only "bypass" you'd get would be at a certain point where the filter would start to burst and leak through in an uncontrolled "bypass." Think about all of the pressure forces in that outer vessel of unfiltered oil if the pleats are clogged...the pressure is acting in all directions, not in a controlled manner for creating tension spring compression. You can look up numerous Wix models (e.g. Wix WL10079) and they will indeed be listed as having "none" for a bypass. A filter with no bypass is intended for systems that have a secondary method of bypass. Engine filters normally do have bypass for the reasons you stated. Hydraulic systems might not per the pinned comment.

    Awesome video and you got it exactly. I used the chain in one hand and my thumb down holding the spring mechanism together then used the chain to rotate the tension counter clockwise. Then I hit a problem of how to hold the lower spring mech down awhile putting the top plate on. I ended up using a micro screwdriver through the hole and pushed it into the two slots where the ball chain was held and that let me press the whole thing together. Fan is running just in time for summer. Cheers man!

    One thing I noticed when I went from a 42" to 54" mower deck is that because my "lawn" is not really flat and smooth I do more scalping of humps and hollow get left long. Ed, I use my GC1710 mid-mount mower all the time to mow grass and weeds. That's one of the primary reasons that I purchased the GC1710 . I was so tired of dealing with gasoline engines always having carb issues. To me, gas engines are a headache. Gas engines are great when they're new but after several uses, things seem to go wrong but that may be as result of steps I'm not taking to care for my gas engine after a power-down. Thanks for your video, it definitely was fun to watch. I like the socks on the loader supports. Have a fine weekend. 👍🏽🤠

I live in the mid-atlantic part of the country as you do I believe. I stopped using it after significantly changing our lawn layout, to the point I needed a smaller mower. Great experiment on the loader, Ed. I did have a video clip that showed the 'far' cylinder moving very similar to yours, but I edited that out to shorten the video length. I plan to do a follow-up video doing a load test on the bucket. As for the mower deck - I like mine but it can be a pain to install and remove numerous times if I have other work for the tractor. Also, if you have a septic system, you may not want to drive the heavy tractor over the system (I have a septic system and two drywells I have to worry about). Removing the loader sure helps with mowing - less weight and more maneuverability. Keep in mind - if you have many yard items to mow around, the smaller cub cadet might be more suitable. Low tree branches are also an issue. And you already moved your lights inside the ROPS, so you don't have to worry about those. And thanks for the shoutout! Oh, and I think my shirt has seen more action! 🙂

      I do have septic and have considered that. Even now if I have a log, I drive up and around the house instead of B line over the septic to the wood splitting area. In a future mowing scenario, I would likely mow a lap around the house and all difficult obstacles and also all over the septic with the Cub Cadet, then switch over to the Massey to avoid issues.

The image guiding can also be used to determine the size of your BCC before Mohs. If it is determined that the BCC is small, then the best decision might still be Mohs surgery because you can know beforehand that it’s going to be just one cut and you’ll be cancer free. On the other hand, if the tumor is deeper and bigger, then the IGSRT would be the best option.

      Look at it this way. You caught it. You're aware. This is much better than being unaware. Instead of worrying for the rest of your life, focus attention on daily protection and annual screenings. I've had various injuries and medical problems in the past that have sucked, but then eventually I realize that the period of past suckiness actually taught me something to prep me for a future issue. Mohs and BCC was one of those experiences.

    So from what research I did, it looks like Certmaster 701 addressed many of the complaints people had about 601. Do you believe that is the case?

    • @Redneck_Ed
      @Redneck_Ed 28 днів тому

      Not at all. Perhaps there is an improvement if you are talking about the full certification exam for 601 vs 701, but for the CE renewal of an existing certification, 701's structure as far as website navigation and passing requirements (100% required for all domains) remains unchanged. The 701 CE questions might have been a bit more difficult than 601 too.

    Would you use the supertech over the agco 821xl for your massey? The supertech has all kinds of different applications on the back of their bottle which includes the 821xl

    • @Redneck_Ed
      @Redneck_Ed 29 днів тому

      I will not, but if I had an issue with the price or if Permatran was not easily accessible to me, the SuperTech was pretty good. Only thing is that I would definitely take more time and care in cold weather to make sure the hydraulic fluid is warm before using the transmission or hydraulic functions. Maybe just let it warm up for an extra 5 or 10 minutes and then start out slow using the loader with an empty bucket (i.e. no load). Just some ups and downs to get it flowing. I know that even with the Permatran, you can see the fluid looks a little cloudy inside the sight glass when it's cold, so that's another indication of whether the fluid is warmed enough.

    Thanks for this, finished the course last night and my cert status hasn't updated. I finished all the reading and got 100% on all the tests, got that popup saying renewal done. However when I check cert status it still says expiring next month. It should've been basically instant right? I'm 90% sure I took the 501, but that the 601 was starting right as I took it. Either way the 701 certmaster should renew it though right? You only have to pay the $205 for the course, not for any CE credit applications right? I asked Comptia's bot, but it was no help, supposedly it pinged their human support and I'll hear back in a couple days. Then UA-cam showed me this video, so again thanks. Yeah, I bet they change which they define as 'most' or 'best' to throw off googling or chatGPTing. A couple of those I ended up just retaking 3 times to find the answer they wanted because all the options made sense.

      Others have done the same. Try hot gluing something to the screw head to break it loose or even a little super glue just on the enter of the screw head and glue the screw driver to the screw temporarily. Another option would be an eraser from a pencil, or a piece of sand paper on the tip of a screw driver. Whatever you can find to create friction.

    certainly better than no table, but my knees cannot take all that kneeling, even on a pad. My electric splitter is mounted on a left over metal stand from my shop, and I have a larger table on the opposite side from where I stand or sit, converted my machine over to one hand operation by simply clamping the button in the on position. when splitting larger rounds, like you have, I set it on the table, positioned to peel off a split from the rim. That piece I catch and the larger piece falls onto the table, I toss the split in a wheelbarrow, then do another, until the piece is completed. Never have to grab at anything falling, and when my wheelbarrow is full, I roll it a few feet and stack the wood, then ready to start the routine over again. If I get a log that I cannot easily lift, I split it on my 10 Harbor Freight manual splitter....just in half to get the weight down to where I can easily lift it. I am 74 years old and want to take care of my back, and knees! LOL

    • @Redneck_Ed
      @Redneck_Ed Місяць тому

      Standing with a setup like you describe is probably going to be better for most people. Just not for me at this point. I tried and sustained lifting, even a wheelbarrow is incompatible with my bulging disc in my lower back. Anyway, great hearing comments like this with ideas for setting up your splitting operation and even better that you're getting it done at 74 years old. My mom is 73 and still mows 3 acres on her own plus taking care of my dad who has ALS. Keeping active outside is good for the soul and body!

      You stated that you can pause the exam even though there is a timer. When you said there was no limit did you mean there was no limit to how long you can pause the test? In other words would I be able complete half the certmaster in one day and the other half on another day or does this entire thing need to be done in one sitting?

    The Kubota is more only lift of only curl. The Massey you can curl and lift more smooth at the same time. Which is what you want: speed. Every minute on the tractor is a minute you ain't earning but spending money on fuel or your labour. Especially piling up snow you'll notice the difference. With the Massey I'm done 20 minutes faster. Alright the Kubota had better number at peak, it isn't the machine you want. The Kubota will annoy you sooner.
